Each May, the Right Moves for Youth (RMFY) annual awards ceremony celebrates student achievement, volunteer dedication, and the transformative impact of mentorship. This year, Kermeka Ferguson, Portfolio Specialist at Bragg Financial, was recognized with the High School Volunteer of the Year Award. The award celebrates volunteers who go above and beyond in mentoring and supporting high school students through the nonprofit’s youth development programs.
As a volunteer, Kermeka plays an active role in facilitating group discussions, sharing life experiences, and offering guidance that helps teens navigate both academic and personal challenges. Her impact is felt not only in the relationships she builds but in the confidence and leadership she helps cultivate in the next generation.
Co-founded by Frank Bragg in 1993, the organization has served more than 32,000 at-risk students in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community. RMFY strives to help students in grades 6–12 make the most of their education, connections, and opportunities, setting themselves up for future success.
