Lynn is a Senior Financial Planner at Bragg Financial Advisors. She prepares retirement and cash flow projections for clients and advises on tax and estate planning issues.

Prior to joining Bragg, Lynn worked for four years with BB&T as a Wealth Planning Analyst. She spent ten years prior to that advising clients in the Financial Planning Group with Wells Fargo and predecessor banks Wachovia and First Union. As a financial planner, she provided comprehensive financial planning to her clients, which included retirement, cash flow, tax, risk, and estate planning. She primarily advised corporate executives and specialized in helping them understand and best utilize their company benefit plans, including employee stock options, deferred compensation and retirement savings plans. She began her financial career in 1994 with First Union as an assistant branch manager in Raleigh and later served as a team manager in Charlotte.

Lynn grew up moving around quite a bit between Virginia Beach, New Jersey, Florida, and Illinois, until her family moved to Charlotte for her last year and a half of high school. She has now lived in Charlotte for over 20 years. She is married and has two children. Lynn enjoys being involved and active in her church and her children's school. Lynn is a "First Connections" and ambassador volunteer with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Brian is a portfolio manager for Bragg Financial Advisors and is an active member of the Investment Committee.

Before joining the Bragg team, he spent ten years with TIAA. During his seven years in their Wealth Management Division, Brian developed tax-efficient investment and income strategies for clients in pursuit of their legacy goals.

Originally from Connecticut, Brian decided to make his home in the Carolinas after a family vacation to South Carolina. He moved to Charlotte after graduating from USC, and he and his wife Carrie are renovating a bungalow in the historic Wilmore district. They have a labradoodle named Willy who keeps them very active. They're also avid college football fans and enjoy long weekend trips to the Carolina coast and mountains.

Brian is passionate about helping recent college graduates find their paths and enjoys serving as a mentor, helping them prepare for interviews and connecting them with potential employers.

Frank grew up in Oxford, North Carolina, and graduated from Wake Forest University in 1961. Frank began his career in financial services with Security Life and Trust Company in Winston-Salem. In 1963, he moved his family to Charlotte and formed his own firm specializing in employee benefit plans. He was a pioneer in the use of diversified portfolios of mutual funds in self-directed 403(b) retirement plans used by non-profit corporations and later in the 401(k) market.

Over time the firm evolved into a more comprehensive benefits and investment organization, including financial planning for individuals. In the course of his career, Frank has advised countless individuals, corporations and foundations in the areas of financial and estate planning and investment management. Today clients benefit tremendously from his vision, long-term perspective and real-life experience. As the dedicated team at Bragg Financial Advisors works to help clients make wise decisions, they are fortunate to have the long experience of Frank Bragg as a solid foundation on which to base their advice.

Frank is married to Kathy Broach Bragg and has four children and 15 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time outdoors on his farm near Davidson.

John serves as a Client Advisor and directs the corporate plans division at Bragg Financial. He assists employers in designing and implementing qualified retirement plans and facilitates the selection and monitoring of investment managers.

Prior to joining Bragg Financial in 1990, John worked for two years as an investment advisor with the Hinrichs Financial Group in Charlotte.

John is married to Catherine and they have four children, with two of them following a family tradition by attending Wake Forest University. They live on a small family farm near Davidson, North Carolina. John enjoys the outdoors and spent seven years as the Scoutmaster of Troop 58 in Davidson. He now serves as a Crew Advisor for Venture Crew 58, the high school, co-ed high adventure scouting program.

The Scouting program has taken him on many high-adventure trips, including a 10-day backpacking trip to Philmont Scout Reservation in the Rockies, floating and camping along the Colorado River through Canyonlands National Park in Utah, sailing in the Abacos in the Bahamas, ice climbing in the Adirondacks in New York, snowshoeing and cross country skiing in Vermont, snowmobiling and ice fishing in Michigan's upper peninsula, as well as many other camping, backpacking and rafting trips in North Carolina. John has also taken his family on three cross country trips in their RV.

Phillips is the Director of Estate & Charitable Planning for Bragg Financial Advisors. In this role, he provides expertise in retirement cash flow planning as well as estate and gift planning. In helping clients meet their charitable objectives, Phillips advises on the myriad alternatives available, including donor advised funds, charitable trusts, private foundations, and supporting organizations. In addition, Phillips regularly provides strategic planning for individuals considering conservation easement planning for land they would like to preserve.

A 1993 cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University, Phillips worked as a trust officer and estate planner in the Wachovia Trust Department (now Wells Fargo) before joining Bragg Financial Advisors in May of 1996. Phillips served as the President of the Charlotte Estate Planning Council and was a board member of the Financial Planning Association.

Phillips is married to Leslie and has three sons and lives on a small family farm near Davidson, North Carolina. He enjoys trout fishing in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, playing golf, and working with his children on the farm. Phillips is a big fan of “how-to” videos on YouTube and has repaired numerous appliances around the house including replacing the circuit board in his refrigerator, the pump in his dishwasher, and the motor in his washing machine.

Phillips co-founded and is very active in leading a non-profit organization called Raising South Sudan. His interest in Sudan began when he met and "adopted" Lubo, one of the "Lost Boys," who was orphaned during the wars in Sudan. Lubo was settled in Charlotte along with a number of other Sundanese refugees in the late 1990s. Inspired by Lubo's story, Phillips worked to raise funds to build a school in Lubo’s village of Naarwang. The school was completed in 2013 and now has over 300 students attending. Phillips visited South Sudan in 2014 to see the school and community. He is committed to the ongoing success of the project and continues to raise funds in support.

Benton S. Bragg, CFA, CFP®

Benton serves as President and CEO of Bragg Financial Advisors. He also serves as chairman of the Investment Committee at Bragg. Benton worked in the consumer bank of Bank of America for three years before joining Bragg Financial Advisors in 1993. Benton was promoted to President and CEO at Bragg in 1998.

Benton graduated cum laude with a BA from Wake Forest University in 1990 and he earned his MBA from Wake Forest University in 1997. He earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certification in 1995 and earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation in 2000.

Benton and his family live on a small farm in Huntersville, North Carolina. Benton enjoys reading, traveling, being outdoors and spending time with his family. He enjoys all types of outdoor manual labor projects, particularly cutting wood with his father and chores he can do while driving his John Deere tractor.

Scouting had a big influence on Benton as he grew up and earned his Eagle Scout rank at Troop 116 in Charlotte. Both of his sons and four nephews earned their Eagle Scout rank with Troop 58 in Davidson. Benton served as President of the Mecklenburg County Scout Council and has served in a variety of other leadership roles on the board for over 12 years. He was awarded the Silver Beaver award from the Boy Scouts of America in recognition of his dedication and service to the scouting program.

Katherine is the Operations Specialist and a Registered Client Service Associate for Bragg Financial Advisors.  In her dual role at Bragg, she spends time working with our vendor partners and compliance as well as helping our clients reach their financial goals and recommendations.

Katherine began her financial services career in 1997.  Prior to joining Bragg Financial in the fall of 2008, she worked with First Citizens Investor Services in Raleigh and Charlotte for ten years, holding various roles including Registered Sales Assistant and Operations Manager.  Her focus was Compliance, Operational procedures, servicing financial advisor teams across four states and training all new employees.  Prior to that, she was with Prudential Securities, Inc.  Katherine holds her securities licenses and her North Carolina Life & Health Insurance licenses.

Katherine is a North Carolina native and is married with two children and lives in Shelby, North Carolina. She is actively involved with the Junior Charity League of Shelby and is a former President.  The League's mission is to provide a clothing room for underprivileged children in the Cleveland County school system. Katherine also serves on the Advisory Board for The Banker’s House, which is one of the first homes listed on the National Historic Preservation Register in Cleveland County.  In her free time, Katherine enjoys watching her children play soccer and tennis as well as spending time with her two Labrador retrievers.

Dawn is Chief Compliance Officer and Controller for Bragg Financial Advisors. She assists our clients in tax planning, handles our daily accounting, and works to keep us compliant with all securities laws and regulations. As part of her responsibilities at Bragg Financial Advisors, Dawn administers a college scholarship fund. Dawn is originally from Buffalo, New York, and joined Bragg Financial Advisors in 2001 as our controller.

Prior to joining Bragg Financial Advisors, Dawn was a Senior Accountant with the CPA firm of Hitchner & Whitt & Company. Dawn earned her CPA designation in 1996 and is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Dawn is married and has three children. Dawn enjoys watching her daughters in their various sporting events in her free time. Dawn also serves as the team manager for her daughter’s club soccer team.

In his role as a Client Advisor for Bragg Financial Advisors, George provides retirement planning, estate planning, investment management and general financial planning services to clients.

George worked for Wachovia Bank (now Wells Fargo) for four years after college, where he served as Branch Manager of the bank's Myers Park office in Charlotte. Most recently, George spent over ten years as a Client Advisor and Senior Vice President in Private Wealth Management for SunTrust Bank.

George is married and has two daughters, both full-fledged teenagers. George spends most of his free time on the sidelines of his daughters' field hockey, soccer, and volleyball games. George is a native Charlottean and is active in the community. George graduated from Myers Park High School and currently serves as President of the MPHS Foundation board. George's father, Bill Climer, served as the director of Camp Thunderbird for many years. George has fond memories of his summers spent living at Camp Thunderbird on Lake Wylie and currently serves on its board. George and his family attend First Presbyterian Church.

Mary Lou is the Director of Planning and a Client Advisor for Bragg Financial Advisors. She provides retirement, estate, investment, tax and financial planning services to clients.

Prior to joining Bragg Financial in the spring of 2011, Mary Lou worked as a CPA, providing tax services to a wide variety of clients, including other single CPA practitioners in the Charlotte area. Mary Lou has more than 30 years of tax experience.

Mary Lou received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College in 1988, majoring in Economics. While working at Price Waterhouse, she attended night school at the University of Hartford and received her Master's Degree in Professional Accounting with a concentration in Tax. She earned her CPA designation in NC in 1989 and is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the AICPA.

Originally from Huntington, West Virginia, Mary Lou is married and has two boys. Her oldest, Michael, graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest and went on to earn his Masters in Behavioral and Decision Sciences from University of Pennsylvania. Tyler, her youngest, is a psychology major at University of Richmond. Mary Lou was Davidson-bound from birth. Her father, uncle, and brother all graduated from Davidson College. Mary Lou was a cheerleader while at Davidson and has season tickets to Davidson basketball, which allows her to continue to cheer for her Wildcats.

Mary Lou is a PK (Preacher's Kid) and grew up with a father who served 15+ years as a Presbyterian minister. She is actively involved at Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she founded and currently leads a speaker series for the church’s Women's Breakfast Ministry. Her passion outside of the office is to provide financial education to individuals in need. Following in the footsteps of her mother, who was a teacher, Mary Lou makes financial literacy presentations to primarily high school students and at-risk parents. Much to the chagrin of her children, they are frequently used as examples of what not to do. Some of the groups she works with are Right Moves for Youth, The Learning Collaborative, Myers Park High School, Junior Achievement, the YBM/YBW Leadership Alliance, Dress for Success and CMS.

In her free time as an empty-nester, Mary Lou enjoys reading, yoga, cycling, hiking, paddle boarding and learning more about lifestyle impacts on Alzheimer’s. She and her husband, Michael, are also the hosts of the annual Bragg Poker Party.

Matt is a portfolio manager and a member of the Investment Committee at Bragg Financial Advisors. Matt serves as an analyst for the Queens Road Small Cap Value fund, which is managed by Bragg Financial.

Prior to joining the Bragg team, Matt led the investment team at a large independent wealth management firm in Charlotte. He was responsible for investment research, asset allocation, and selection of client investments. Prior to that, Matt worked with an online brokerage firm, advising high-net-worth clients on complex option trades.

Matt is married to Sara and has two young children. Matt was born in Iowa but spent his childhood growing up in Charlotte, where his parents still live. Matt spends most of his free time with his children and cheering on his Tar Heels. He is an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and is involved with Camp LUCK (supporting children affected by CHD).  Matt also encourages everyone to join him in saving lives by donating blood with the Red Cross every two months.

She began her career in the financial industry as an Operations Manager at Benchmark Wealth Management in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Adria and her family relocated to Tega Cay, South Carolina, in 2017 and she worked as a Client Services Specialist for an independent advisory firm in Charlotte before joining the Bragg team.

Adria received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and Human Performance from Adelphi University in 1993 followed by her master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Haven in 1996. She also earned the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP) designation from the College for Financial Planning in 2012.

Adria is married to Scott, and between the two of them they have six children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time on Lake Wyle with her family and friends. She is member of Elevation Church and an active volunteer at the Charlotte Rescue Mission.

Prior to joining Bragg Financial in the spring of 2011, she worked for LPL Financial as a Service360 Representative. During her six years with LPL Financial, Marta also worked as their Direct Operations Manager. Prior to that, she was with PFPC Inc., where she contributed as a Senior Investment Service Specialist.

Originally from Poland, Marta moved with her family to Germany for a couple years, then to the United States at age 10 and attended South Mecklenburg High School, the same school as the Braggs and Scruggs. Marta earned her BS degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a major in International Business and a minor in German.

Marta recently moved to Fort Mill and is enjoying her new house with her husband. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family. In her free time, Marta enjoys playing tennis, walking, card games, and traveling as much as possible, especially to warm, sunny places and overseas. Marta serves as a volunteer with Druid Hills Academy, where she tutors 2nd grade students in reading.

She is responsible for providing multi-generational family wealth planning services to clients, focusing on their goals of preserving, transferring and managing their wealth. She collaborates with colleagues, clients and their advisors to provide comprehensive solutions for the complex financial needs of individuals and families.

For over a decade, Jen worked with ultra-high-net worth families and individuals at Abbot Downing (previously Calibre, the ultra-high-net worth division of Wachovia/Wells Fargo). She served as a relationship manager in their Charlotte office, where she oversaw client administration for the rising generation of families. Prior to joining Abbot Downing, Jen was a relationship associate at U.S. Trust Company in New York City, where she also worked with high-net-worth individuals.

Jennifer is currently a member of the Charlotte Estate Planning Council. She enjoys coaching for Girls on the Run and training for half and full marathons while fundraising for various cancer support and research charities.

She was born and raised in upstate New York and, after a few years in New York City and Long Island, now makes her home in Huntersville, North Carolina, with her husband and two dogs.

T. Ben Rose, CFA, CFP®, AIF

Ben Rose is a portfolio manager for Bragg Financial Advisors and serves as an active member of the Investment Committee. Ben also serves as an analyst for the Queens Road Value fund, which is managed by Bragg Financial.

Before joining Bragg Financial, Ben was a founding partner of Cygnus Asset Management, an affiliate of the Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. At Cygnus, Ben chaired the Investment Committee and was lead portfolio manager. Prior to Cygnus, he spent eight years with Morgan Keegan as First Vice President. His areas of specialty included investment selection and research on mutual funds. Ben was a research analyst from 1998 to 2001 with IJL Wachovia, where his responsibilities included due diligence of institutional money managers that comprised the firm's recommended list. He started in the securities business and became a Registered Representative in 1995 with Smith Barney.

Ben grew up in eastern North Carolina in the small town of Henderson. He met the Bragg boys while attending Wake Forest University in the 1990s. Ben is an avid sports fan who enjoys being outside with his two dogs, playing golf, and traveling to live music festivals and concerts. He has lived in Charlotte since 1995. Ben served as a tutor for three years with the ReadWriteServe Partnership for Literacy Action, an initiative between United Way and community-based resources. He currently serves as a tutor to elementary school students with Heart Math Tutoring.

Steve serves as director of research and senior portfolio manager for Bragg Financial Advisors. Steve is also the primary portfolio manager of our two mutual funds, the Queens Road Value Fund and the Queens Road Small Cap Value Fund.

Prior to joining Bragg Financial Advisors in 1999, Steve spent three years as a product manager with GMAC Insurance and Reliance Insurance Companies. Steve is a member of the CFA Institute and the North Carolina Society of Financial Analysts.

Steve is married with four daughters and lives on a small family farm near Davidson, North Carolina. Steve enjoys fishing, hunting, playing golf and being outdoors on the farm with his girls. Steve’s interest in hands-on learning has led him to build a variety of things, including  a cedar strip stand-up paddle board, a snow-making machine so his daughters could sled, a smokehouse for curing meats, and a pond to attract wildlife. He also converted an old grill into a kiln that is hot enough to forge steel so that he can make knives.

Previously, Emily Rose worked for Wells Fargo Advisors, where she served as a Registered Client Associate for nine years in the Private Client Group. Emily Rose is a native Charlottean and earned a BS degree from East Carolina University.

Emily Rose is married to Wes and together they have a son named Harris and are expecting a daughter in August. She enjoys spending time with her parents and two sisters, who also live in Charlotte. In their free time, she and Wes enjoy traveling with friends and family and being outdoors, and they are dedicated Carolina Panthers fans. Melissa Smith serves as Assistant Office Manager for Bragg Financial Advisors.

Prior to joining Bragg, Melissa was an elementary school teacher at Charlotte Country Day School. Melissa was born in Rhode Island but grew up in Charlotte, where she attended Catholic schools for 13 years. She went on to earn a BA in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Melissa has two sons: one is a recent graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, and her younger son is a junior at UNC-Wilmington. In her free time, Melissa volunteers at Levine Children’s Hospital and the public libraries in Charlotte with her certified therapy dog, Lola. Melissa enjoys spending time with her siblings and her families, all of whom live in Charlotte.

Melissa has been a regular member of the Dowd YMCA for 30 years and recently added yoga classes to her workout routine. Melissa is testing the waters in her lifelong sport of tennis after a significant hiatus!

Debbie is the Client Experience Officer at Bragg Financial Advisors and is responsible for the overall client experience—providing our clients with a high level of personal service and working with our Bragg Financial team on continuous improvements to better serve our clients. Debbie also works closely with the Charlotte retirement communities and provides our clients with information and guidance when they are considering a retirement community. She is also our liaison on many of our Bragg-sponsored events.

Prior to working with Bragg Financial, Debbie spent 20 years in the hospitality industry. Recruited by Marriott Corporation in college, Debbie began her management career with the Charlotte Marriott City Center in 1985. She also held sales and management positions with the Omni Charlotte Hotel and The Duke Mansion. She was active in hospitality professional associations, including serving as the Carolinas Chapter President for the International Special Events Society, now known as the International Live Events Association.

Debbie enjoys taking her dog, Arlie, for morning walks and getting a jump on her 10,000-step daily goal. She's a big fan of Jazzercise and enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and biking. One of her biggest fitness accomplishments was joining her husband, Mark, on a week-long, 400-mile bike ride across the state of Iowa. Debbie is a Girl Scout Leader and is a member of Good Friends of Charlotte. She's also a bit of a crafter, occasionally gifting folks in the office with hand-knitted or sewn treasures.

Beth is married and has two teenage children. In her free time, Beth enjoys boating, paddle boarding, fishing, and swimming. She also enjoys working in the yard, gardening and flower arranging.
